This Thursday catch the new and improved 2009 Son line up at Trash Bar in Williamsburg. We proudly welcome Joel Hamburgler on keys and tiny laptop. We hit the stage at 9, but you’ll want to get there by 8 for the free PBRs and well drinks in the back room.
2009 has been good to most of us. Sandy went to Costa Freaka, Trig went to Cabo, Jew-C stole her man’s car, Chopper and his lady went to Maine and got food poisoning, and Joel hunkered down in GodelString Studios to wrap up our debut album. Email us your thoughts on a title and if you’re brilliant and lucky we’ll use it for the album.
Early February we’re on fire with back to back shows at Nublu (the hippest club in Manhattan) on Tuesday the 3rd, and Public Assembly (old Galapagos in WillyB) on Wednesday the 4th. Come on down and see if Joel has been able to grow a beard by then.
Go Steelers.

This past Saturday we rolled into Godelstring Studio in Brooklyn with our good buddy Joel Hamburger who runs the place, set to track 7 songs for the new and soon to be only Son record. Big thanks to Joel and the dope work he did on the tracks. Gonna be tasty.
Here is a little timeline post of the days events. Enjoy:

When the Eric Clapton cover band finished packing up their gear and their clearly long deferred dreams of being rock stars, that’s when we took the stage. A mostly furry bunch, we set up laptops, amplifiers, and a Franken-drum kit to share the big beats, dope lines, and sultry voice of Son with an audience of intentionally shallow revelers.
The Shalloween party at The Village Lantern marked our debut performance as Son, a new band made up of old hands at rocking out. With the ethereal guitar and groove based drums of Ghetto Crush recording artist Aleda; the live bass and programming skills of one half of Brooklyn’s own sound and music production project Force Theory; and all of the acrobatic vocal melodies, heart felt wordplay, and costumery of The Mayors of Williamsburg’s Lady A; Son exploded onto the scene like hipsters on Bedford Ave.
